US and Iran Signed MoUs to Extend Ceasefire

On 19th June 2026, the United States and Iran signed a 14-point Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) extending the ceasefire and initiating negotiations for a comprehensive peace agreement.

Key Provisions

  • Declared an immediate ceasefire and committed to end military operations while respecting each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
  • Agreed to negotiate a final agreement within 60 days, with the timeline extendable by mutual consent.
  • Iran committed to:
    • Never develop or acquire nuclear weapons.
    • Cooperate with the management of its enriched uranium under International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) supervision.
  • The US agreed to:
    • Gradually lift economic sanctions, subject to Iran's compliance.
