Gujarat Regains Tiger State Status
- Recently, the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) confirmed the presence of a tiger in the Ratanmahal Wildlife Sanctuary.
- NTCA decided to include Gujarat in the 2026 All-India Tiger Census.
- With this, Gujarat has regained the status of a tiger-inhabited state after more than three decades.
- Gujarat is popularly known as the “Land of Lions.”
- It is the world’s only natural habitat of Asiatic Lions.
