Modern Digital Libraries in Agra

  • Recently, the Uttar Pradesh government announced the establishment of modern digital libraries in 104 gram panchayats of Agra district.
  • The project is being implemented by the State Panchayati Raj Department to bridge the educational gap between rural and urban areas.
  • It aims to provide rural students access to digital learning resources and effective support for competitive exam preparation.
  • Each library will involve an expenditure of about Rs.4 lakh.
    • Rs.2 lakh for books
    • Rs.1.30 lakh for IT equipment
