Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve to Become New Cheetah Habitat
- Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that after the successful translocation of cheetahs from Africa to Kuno National Park, the Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve will become the new habitat for cheetahs before the upcoming monsoon.
- The State Cabinet has granted in-principle approval to develop the Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve, located in the Nauradehi region of Sagar district, as the state’s third cheetah habitat.
- The first cheetah habitat was established in September 2022 at Kuno National Park in Sheopur.
- The second habitat was developed in April 2025 at Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary in Mandsaur.
