Reconstruction of Firozpur Feeder

  • On 5th December 2025, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the Firozpur Feeder of the Gang Canal at Sadhuwali near Sri Ganganagar.
  • The reconstruction is being undertaken in cooperation with Punjab.
  • After reconstruction, the capacity of the Firozpur Feeder will increase from 9,000 to 13,842 cusecs.
  • The 51-km-long Firozpur Feeder originates from the Harike Barrage in Punjab.
  • It supplies water to the Bikaner Canal, benefiting Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh districts of Rajasthan.
  • The foundation of the Gang Canal was laid on 5 December 1925 by Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner.
