Right to Repair & Repairability Index (RI)
- The Department of Consumer Affairs (DoCA) has submitted a “Framework on Repairability Index (RI)” for mobile phones and electronics to the government, aimed at promoting easy repairability.
- The RI will assign scores to products based on factors like availability and cost of spare parts, software updates, repairability documentation, and overall ease of repair.
