India Signs Deal with France for 26 Rafale-Marine Fighter Jets
On 28th April 2025, India signed a significant defence agreement with France to procure 26 Rafale-Marine fighter jets for the Indian Navy, valued at approximately Rs. 63,000 crore. These jets will primarily operate from the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant.
What is the Rafale-Marine deal?
- 26 Rafale-M Jets: The contract includes 22 single-seat Rafale-M jets and 4 twin-seat trainers.
- Support and Training: The deal also covers weapons, simulators, crew training, and five years of performance-based logistics support.
- Delivery Timeline: The jets will be delivered within 37 to 65 months, with the final delivery by 2031.
