Indian Army Inducts Indigenous FPV Drones
In a pioneering move, the Indian Army has recently inducted its first batch of indigenously developed First Person View (FPV) drones equipped with anti-tank payloads, marking a breakthrough in homegrown tactical drone warfare capabilities.
- The drone was co-developed by Major Cephas Chetan and the Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL), Chandigarh, under a project launched in August 2024.
- The drones are armed with impact-based, kamikaze-role anti-tank munitions and were entirely assembled at the Rising Star Drone Battle School, which has produced over 100 drones to date.
