How is the recently signed India-UAE CEPA significant for deepening India’s bilateral relations with UAE?
Answer: India-UAE CEPA is a comprehensive agreement aimed at boosting the merchandise trade between the two countries to US$ 100 billion over next five years.
This is significant for deepening India’s bilateral relations with UAE:
- CEPA provides for an institutional mechanism to improve trade between the two countries.
- India will benefit from preferential market access provided by the UAE on over 97 % of its tariff lines which account for 99% of Indian exports to the UAE in value terms.
