What form of art Kalamkari is and where it is practised in India?
Answer: Kalamkari is a type of hand printed or hand block printed cotton textile. The name Kalamkari originates from Persian words qalam (pen) and kari (craftmanship). Andhra Pradesh is famous all over for this form of art.
There are two major forms of kalamkari:
- Srikalahasthi from Chittoor district.
- Machilipatnam Kalamkari of Krishna district.
