Answer: People whose gender identity differs from their biological sex are called "transgender." In India, trans population consist of 490,000 people, out of which handful of them only make it to gainful employment.
The problems faced by the Transgender community:
- Discrimination
- Lack of family support
- People give unwanted attention to transgenders in public.
- They are vulnerable to HIV, depression, hormone pill abuse, tobacco and alcohol abuse, penectomy, and problems related to marriage and adoption.
