Impatiens rajibiana
Recently, scientists from the Botanical Survey of India (BSI) discovered Impatiens rajibiana, a new species of balsam flower, in the natural forests of Shergaon, West Kameng district, Arunachal Pradesh.
- Impatiens rajibiana joins over 230 known Indian balsam species, including previously discovered species such as Impatiens godfreyi and Impatiens sashinborthakurii.
- Well-known species like Impatiens balsamina (garden balsam or touch-me-not) are also native to India.
