What is RK-251?
- Smart Drug: RK-251 is an experimental activatable prodrug designed to remain relatively inactive until it encounters high ROS levels.
- Cancer Targeting: It exploits the higher oxidative stress often found in cancer cells.
- Molecular Switch: Elevated ROS triggers a chemical change that activates the drug.
- Active Compound: Activation releases NBDHEX, the anticancer compound responsible for the therapeutic effect.
