14th WTO Ministerial Conference (MC14)

The 14th WTO Ministerial Conference was held from 26-30 March 2026 in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

  • Aim: To negotiate global trade rules on e-commerce, agriculture, subsidies, and dispute settlement.

Organised by: World Trade Organization (WTO) [Hosted by the Government of Cameroon].

Key Outcomes

  • No consensus reached due to deep divisions between developed and developing countries.
  • Expiry of the e-commerce moratorium (in place since 1998).
  • Lapse of TRIPS non-violation safeguard provisions.
  • Continuation of negotiations on fisheries subsidies.

Key highlights

  • Progress by a group of countries on a plurilateral e-commerce agreement.
  • Ongoing disagreement on Public Stockholding (PSH) for food security.
  • Discussions deferred to the next General Council meeting in Geneva.
