India–EU FTA Negotiations Revival (2024–26)

India and the European Union formally relaunched FTA negotiations in June 2022 after being stalled since 2013, along with parallel talks on Investment Protection Agreement (IPA) and Geographical Indications (GI).

  • Negotiations saw accelerated rounds during 2023–25, with multiple chapters under discussion, but no official confirmation of conclusion as of early 2026.
  • India–EU bilateral trade reached about USD 180–190+ billion (goods + services combined) in 2023–24, making the EU one of India’s largest trading partners.
