UNFCCC COP30

The United Nations Climate Change Conference 2025 (COP30) was held from 10-21 November 2025 in Belém, Brazil.

  • Aim: To advance implementation of global climate commitments under the Paris Agreement with focus on finance, adaptation, and just transition.

Organised by: United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Key Outcomes

  • Adoption of the Belém Package with 29 decisions on climate finance, adaptation, and cooperation.
  • Launch of the Global Mutirão Agreement focusing on implementation over new targets.
  • Establishment of Just Transition Mechanism (Belém Action Mechanism).
  • Agreement to triple adaptation finance by 2030 (with funding concerns remaining).
