India and Mauritania Hold First Foreign Office Consultations

On 21st March, India and Mauritania held their first Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) in Nouakchott.
- Co-chaired by officials from both countries, the meeting covered bilateral, regional, and global issues.
- Discussions included political cooperation, economic partnership, development assistance, and cultural exchanges.
- Both sides agreed to hold the next round of FOC meeting in New Delhi.
- Bilateral trade between India and Mauritania has grown steadily, reaching $378.24 million during 2022-23.
- India extended a Line of Credit (LOC) worth $21.8 million to Mauritania for agro-industries and drinking water projects.
- The release highlights the variety of goods traded between the two countries, emphasizing their long-standing ties of friendship and collaboration.
