On 21st May, 2024, Senior Indian diplomat attended the Council of Foreign Ministers meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states in Astana.

  • The Indian mission highlighted Ravi's participation in a meeting with Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who expressed gratitude for the support of Kazakhstan’s initiatives within the SCO.
  • The SCO is a significant political, economic, and security organization, covering 80% of Eurasia and 40% of the world’s population.
  • The Council of Foreign Ministers meeting reviewed ongoing SCO cooperation and discussed preparations for the upcoming Summit of the SCO Council of Heads of State.
