PM Launches ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Campaign

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign to commemorate the World Environment Day on 5th June, 2024, by planting a peepal tree sapling at Buddha Jayanti Park in Delhi.

The World Environment Day theme for 2024 is “Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience,” focusing on the urgent need to restore and conserve our land resources.
Under the campaign, 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam', millions of trees will be planted across the country.
World Environment Day, celebrated each year on June 5^th, commemorates the inaugural day of the 1972 Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment.
