On June 17th, 2024, Israeli Prime Minister dissolved the influential War Cabinet that was tasked with steering the war in Gaza.

Gantz, a longtime political rival of Netanyahu, joined the government as a show of unity following Hamas' 7^th October 2023 attack on southern Israel. He left the government recently, citing frustration with Netanyahu’s handling of the war.
The War Cabinet was dissolved after Gantz, an opposition lawmaker who had joined the coalition in the early days of the war, departed from the government.
