South Asian Telecom Regulators Gather in New Delhi

On 11th November 2024, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) hosted a significant multilateral event in New Delhi, bringing together South Asian nations for the annual South Asian Telecommunication Regulators’ Council (SATRC) meeting, organized by the Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT).

This year’s SATRC meeting includes a delegation from Afghanistan, despite its Taliban-led government, marking a significant inclusion in the event.
TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti was voted as the chair of SATRC for the upcoming year, following the tradition of the host country assuming the leadership role.
