Aisake Valu Eke Elected Prime Minister of Tonga

On 24th December, 2024, Aisake Valu Eke was elected as the new Prime Minister of Tonga, set to take office officially in February 2025.
 - Aisake Valu Eke will replace Hu'akavameiliku Siaosi Sovaleni, who resigned as Prime Minister on December 9, 2024.
 - Eke was first elected to the Tongan Parliament in 2010 and has a history of public service, having served as the minister of finance from 2014 to 2017.
 - His election marks a significant transition in Tonga’s leadership, with the new Prime Minister poised to lead the nation for less than a year.
 - Valu Eke will hold office until Tonga’s next general election in November 2025.
