On 26th February 2025, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar reaffirmed India’s dedication to representing the aspirations of the Global South while addressing the Japan-India-Africa Business Forum virtually.

- Championing the Global South: India has actively promoted the interests of the Global South, especially through the Voice of the Global South Summits and its G20 Presidency.
 - Sustainable Partnerships with Africa: Unlike extractive models, India prioritizes capacity-building, skill development, and technology transfer to foster self-sustaining growth in Africa.
 - Major Trading Partner: India is Africa’s fourth-largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching nearly $100 billion.
 - Investment in Infrastructure: India has committed over $12 billion in concessional credit and completed 200+ projects in Africa, enhancing connectivity and infrastructure.
 - Development Impact: Indian initiatives in Africa span drinking water schemes, irrigation, rural solar electrification, and power plants, generating local employment and improving livelihoods.
