Parliament Names Panel for Key Bills

On 12th November 2025, Member of Parliament (MP) Aparajita Sarangi was appointed as the Chairperson of the Joint Committee of Parliament formed to examine three contentious Bills introduced on the last day of the Monsoon Session.
- The Joint Committee, comprising thirty-one members, has been constituted to review the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill, 2025, the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2025, and the Government of Union Territories (Amendment) Bill, 2025.
- The committee includes fifteen MPs from the BJP, eleven from NDA allies, four from the opposition, and one nominated member, reflecting a majority aligned with the ruling coalition.
- Senior BJP leaders such as Ravi Shankar Prasad, Parshottambhai Rupala, Anurag Thakur, and Brij Lal have been included, adding substantial political weight and legislative experience to the panel.
- Nominated Rajya Sabha member Sudha Murty is also part of the committee, marking her involvement in reviewing significant constitutional and administrative reforms.
