On 8th December 2025, India and Australia reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in skills development, workforce mobility and sports-sector opportunities during the 3rd Australia-India Education and Skills Council (AIESC) Meeting held in New Delhi.

  • Sports Economy as a Sunrise Sector: The sports and physical wellness industry was recognised as a high-growth sector with strong job potential, contributing nearly 2% to India’s GDP.
  • Enhanced Institutional Collaboration: Both sides explored deeper partnerships between India’s ITIs and NSTIs and Australia’s TAFE network, particularly in mining, digital & IT skills, hospitality, green jobs, renewable energy and logistics.
