Holistic Homestay Support Framework Launched in Ladakh

On 5th March 2026, the Ladakh Tourism Department launched the Holistic Homestay Support Framework in Leh to upskill homestay operators in the Union Territory.

  • Aim: To promote community-based tourism in the rural areas of Ladakh.
  • Under this initiative, the department has introduced a comprehensive 21-day training curriculum for homestay owners, aimed at improving their operational and hospitality skills.
  • The Holistic Homestay Support Framework is part of broader initiatives to promote community-driven tourism through homestays.
  • The Centre had earlier approved the creation of 3 clusters of homestays under the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan.
  • Under the scheme, 111 homestays in 19 villages across the 3 clusters will be developed.
