MoD Signs ₹1,950 Crore Deal with BEL

On 31st March 2026, the Ministry of Defence signed a ₹1,950-crore contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL).

• It is for procurement of two mountain radars for the Indian Air Force.
• The agreement was signed in New Delhi.
• It falls under the Buy (Indian-IDDM) category.
• The radar is designed for mountainous terrain operations.
• Developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation.
• To be manufactured by Bharat Electronics Limited.
• MoD is responsible for safeguarding India’s national security.
• Oversees the armed forces including Army, Navy and Air Force.
• Plays a key role in defence policy, procurement and modernization.
