CAMPA Hosts Workshop on Forest Boundary Digitisation

On 10th April 2026, the National Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (National CAMPA) organised a National Workshop on the settlement and digitisation of forest boundaries in New Delhi.

  • The workshop brought together officials from the Union Government, States, and Union Territories.
  • It aims to accelerate accurate mapping of forest lands, irrespective of their legal notification status.
  • The initiative will strengthen monitoring of forest diversion and compensatory afforestation activities.
  • It will help protect customary and statutory forest rights while ensuring compliance with Supreme Court mandates.
  • The move enhances transparency, accountability, and sustainable forest governance in India.
