Dr. Gurdial Singh Dhillon

On 6th August 2026, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla paid floral tributes to former Lok Sabha Speaker Dr. Gurdial Singh Dhillon on the occasion of his birth anniversary at the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan, New Delhi.

Dr. Gurdial Singh Dhillon was a distinguished freedom fighter, parliamentarian and journalist, remembered for his contributions to India's parliamentary democracy.
Born on 6th August 1915 in Amritsar, he actively participated in the Indian Freedom Movement and the Kisan Movement.
After Independence, he served as Chief Editor of the Urdu daily Sher-e-Bharat and Managing Director of National Sikh Newspapers Ltd., promoting communal harmony and social unity.
