Odisha Pavilion Inaugurated at Semicon India 2026

On September 18, 2026, Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the Odisha Pavilion at Semicon India 2026, held at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi.
- Investment Proposals: Odisha received investment proposals worth approximately ₹23,600 crore in the semiconductor sector, with the potential to create nearly 6,100 job opportunities.
- Odisha Silicon Valley: The state government announced the development of "Odisha Silicon Valley" across an 870-acre area in Naraj near Cuttack, which will house major electronics and IT projects.
- SiC Wafer Facility: A Letter of Intent (LoI) was signed with QuadQuantum to establish a semiconductor facility for Silicon Carbide (SiC) substrate wafer production.
- Semiconductor Ecosystem: The Odisha Pavilion showcased the state's capabilities in Silicon Carbide semiconductors, advanced packaging, glass-substrate packaging, power electronics, chip design, and education.
- Financial Assistance: Under the third amendment to Odisha's Semiconductor Policy, an additional 25% financial assistance has been provided for ISM-approved projects in semiconductor equipment manufacturing, semiconductor-grade gases, raw materials, and supply-chain sectors.
