Launch of 3D-Printed Rural Housing in Andhra Pradesh

On 8 October 2026, the Andhra Pradesh government officially launched India's first national-level 3D-printed rural housing pilot project under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G 2.0).
Key Points
- Project Location & Scope: This pilot project has been launched to construct a total of 177 houses in Burlipalem (100 houses) and Obulnaidupalem/Pothuru (77 houses) in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh.
- Cost & Financial Share: The estimated cost of this project is approximately ₹14 crore (₹13.93 crore excluding taxes), with the Union Ministry of Rural Development contributing ₹9.44 crore and the Andhra Pradesh government contributing ₹4.49 crore.
- Construction Timeline: These rural houses, being built using modern 3D Concrete Printing (3DCP) technology, are targeted for completion within the next 6 months.
- Technical Collaboration: Technical support for India's first 3DCP rural housing project is being provided by the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research – Central Building Research Institute (CSIR-CBRI), Roorkee.
