12th BRICS Parliamentary Forum

On October 26, 2026, the two-day 12th BRICS Parliamentary Forum commenced in New Delhi. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is presiding over the event.
Key Highlights
- Venue & Theme: The conference is being held on October 26–27 in the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan. Its theme is ‘Empowering Parliaments for People-Centric Development’.
- Country Participation: 11 member countries and 10 partner nations of BRICS have been invited. Speakers and presiding officers from various national parliaments are participating.
- Four High-Level Sessions: Discussions cover institutional resilience, innovation, international cooperation, and sustainable development. Human-centric AI and digital technologies are also on the agenda.
- Special Meeting: Chairs of parliamentary committees on foreign affairs will deliberate on parliamentary diplomacy, capacity building, and the exchange of best parliamentary practices.
