India and UAE Sign MoU to Boost Educational Cooperation

Recently, Union Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Minister sealed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UAE's Minister of Education, during his visit to Abu Dhabi.

  • Enhancing Educational Cooperation: The signed MoU is designed to strengthen the existing educational collaboration between India and the United Arab Emirates.

  • Visit to Abu Dhabi School for Disruptive Learning: During his visit, the Minister also toured "42 Abu Dhabi," a School for Disruptive Learning.
  • Discussion on Educational Framework and Policies: The discussions included the development of frameworks and policies in general and higher education, including national qualifications frameworks.
  • The aim is to enable mutual recognition of qualifications between India and the UAE.
  • Facilitating Academic Collaboration: The MoU will facilitate academic collaboration between Higher Education Institutions in both countries.
  • This collaboration will encompass Twinning, Joint Degree, and Dual Degree Programs.
  • Capacity Development in TVET: Cooperation in the field of Capacity Development for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) teaching staff is also a key aspect of the MoU.
  • Creation of Joint Working Group: The MoU will establish a Joint Working Group, with representation from the Ministry of Education in India and the UAE.
  • This group will meet annually to review the implementation of the memorandum.
  • Commitment to Student and Workforce Mobility: Both ministers expressed their commitment to enhancing institutional mechanisms and expediting processes to facilitate smooth mobility of students and the workforce.
  • Facilitating Student Exchange Programs: Discussions also revolved around ways to enable student exchange programs between India and the UAE.
