India and Cuba Sign MoU for Digital Transformation Cooperation

On 19^th January, 2024, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Republic of India and the Ministry of Communication, Republic of Cuba signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement, concluded in New Delhi, focuses on collaboration and success of digital solutions for population-scale digital transformation.

Key Points

• Focus on Digital Transformation: The main goal of the MoU is to promote digital transformation, and specifically through using the INDIA STACK framework. The purpose of this collaboration is to establish effective digital solutions at a massive scale
• Capacity Building Initiatives: The agreement defines intentions to strengthen mutual Capacity Building activities, disseminate best practices and engage in joint projects. These programs aim to develop the digital environments of both India and Cuba.
• Adoption of Digital Public Infrastructure: India agrees to enhance the development partnership with Cuba that it will support through digital transformation. They aim to enable the successful implementation of Digital Public Infrastructure in Cuba, which would allow for efficiency and widespread digital services.
• Collaborative Synergy: The MoU speaks to a willingness by the two countries towards synergistic activities bolstered by mutual benefits through concerted initiatives in digital space.
• Long-Term Vision: The partnership between India and Cuba surpasses short-term objectives through the provision of broader vision for innovation, cross knowledge transfer as well as digital development.
