PM-SURAJ for Socially Disadvantaged Entrepreneurs

On 13th March, Prime Minister Modi virtually inaugurates the PM-SURAJ portal, providing credit support to marginalized entrepreneurs.

• Credit Disbursement: PM disbursed around Rs. 720 crore worth of credit to 1 lakh beneficiaries from marginalized communities across 500+ districts.
• Purpose of the Portal: The PM-SURAJ portal serves as a one-stop point for disadvantaged individuals to apply for and monitor loan and credit schemes by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
• Facilitated Credit Support: Credit support will be facilitated through banks, NBFC-MFIs, and other organizations across the country.
• Empowerment Efforts: PM highlighted various schemes aimed at empowering marginalized communities, including free ration, medical treatment, housing, and employment opportunities.
• Goal of Saturation: The government aims for saturation in welfare schemes to ensure basic facilities reach the deprived segments of society.
