Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Campaign

On July 6th the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Campaign is inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Dr. Mohan Yadav. Under the campaign five and a half crore trees will be planted in Madhya Pradesh.
Key Points
- In Madhya Pradesh the campaign is started on the birth anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
- A target has been set to plant 20 lakh saplings in 480 hectares of area in Bhopal district alone
- Government has a plan to plant 51 lakh saplings in Indore, the industrial capital of the state and the cleanest city of the country.
- The “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign is being run on a war footing manner in all the cities and villages of the state till July 15.
- Madhya Pradesh had set a record of planting 6 crore saplings planted in 12 hours, the maximum number of saplings in a day in the country in 2017.
- The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' Campaign on the occasion of World Environment Day on 5th June 2024.
