GRSE Accelerated Innovation Nurturing Scheme

On July 10th, 2024, Raksha Rajya Mantri launched “GRSE Accelerated Innovation Nurturing Scheme (GAINS 2024) of Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited( GRSE)in Kolkata on 10th July 2024.
Key points
- The scheme seeks solution to the problems related to the shipyards and promotes technology development using the start-ups created and nurtured in the country
- The scheme encourages and enables MSMEs and Start-Ups to develop innovative solutions for further technological advancement.
- The initiative is in keeping with the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Start-up India’ policies of the Government of India.
GRSE
- Established in 1884, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE), a premier warship building company in India, operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence. It began as a modest workshop, servicing vessels for the River Steam Navigation Company, before being nationalized by the Government of India in 1960.
- Recognized as a Miniratna Category I Company in 2006, GRSE has delivered over 790 platforms, including 109 warships, to the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and friendly foreign countries.
