21-Point Winter Plan

On 5th Sept 2024, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai unveiled a 21-point Winter Action Plan aimed at reducing air pollution in the capital, incorporating new strategies such as drone monitoring and work-from-home policies.

The new plan expands on last year's 15-point approach, focusing on monitoring pollution hotspots and implementing voluntary vehicle restrictions.
Drone surveillance will be used for the first time to monitor pollution in key areas, with a special task force to ensure implementation.
Private organizations are encouraged to adopt work-from-home policies and stagger office timings to reduce traffic emissions.
The odd-even vehicle rule is being considered as part of the pollution control strategy.
35 key departments, including the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) and the Forest Department, are involved, with each department assigned specific tasks to submit by September 12.
