PM Unveils Development Projects in Jharkhand

On 2nd October 2024, Prime Minister (PM) launched major development initiatives in Hazaribag, Jharkhand, with a focus on holistic growth for tribal communities.
- The centerpiece, Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, is a Rs 79,150 crore project aimed at the comprehensive development of over 5 crore tribals across 549 districts in 30 states and Union Territories.
- The initiative seeks to bridge gaps in social infrastructure, health, education, and livelihood through 25 interventions managed by 17 central ministries.
- In addition, PM inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth Rs 1,360 crore under the PM Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN), including road construction, anganwadi centres, multi-purpose centres, and school hostels.
- The Prime Minister also announced electrification of over 75,800 households in 3,000 villages belonging to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG).
- Other projects include the operationalisation of 275 mobile medical units, 500 anganwadi centres, 250 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras, and piped water access to 5,550 PVTG villages.
