In October 2024, India, the sixth largest global contributor to the World Health Organization (WHO) pledged over $300 million to support the organisation's core programmes from 2025 to 2028.

- Major Focus on Traditional Medicine: India’s contribution includes $250 million for the Centre of Excellence for Traditional Medicine, the largest portion of its funding.
 - Additional Funding for Key Areas: India will allocate $38 million for WHO’s regional office, $10 million for digital health initiatives, and $4.6 million for thematic projects.
 - Global Funding Gaps: WHO has received pledges of over $2.2 billion to address its $7.1 billion funding gap for core programmes that aim to save 40 million lives over four years.
