Former SC Judge Harjit Singh Bedi Passes Away

On 21st November 2024, former Supreme Court Judge Harjit Singh Bedi, who had been ailing for some time, passed away.

Born on 5^th September 1946, in Shimla, Justice Bedi came from a family of distinguished legal professionals, with his father Justice Tikka Jagjit Singh Bedi serving as a judge at the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Justice Bedi was appointed as Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court in 2006 and elevated to the Supreme Court in 2007, where he served until his retirement in 2011.
