PM Honoured by Guyana and Dominica

On 20th November 2024, on his three-nation visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred the highest national awards by Guyana and Dominica, recognizing his efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic and his contributions to global diplomacy.

Prime Minister received ‘The Order of Excellence’ from Guyanese President Irfaan Ali for his exceptional global service and efforts to strengthen India-Guyana ties, marking the first time Guyana has awarded this honour to a foreign leader.
PM dedicated the ‘Order of Excellence’ to the people of India, highlighting the deep historical ties between the two nations and reaffirming India’s commitment to furthering their relationship.
In a separate ceremony, PM was also awarded the ‘Dominica Award of Honour’ for his leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic and his role in enhancing India-Dominica relations, becoming the fourth foreign leader to receive this honor.
The awards reflect the shared values between India and these Caribbean nations, including resilience, democracy, and commitment to global collaboration, particularly in addressing climate change and sustainable development.
