Cabinet Approves Two Major Infrastructure Projects in Bihar

On 28th March 2025, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the Patna-Arrah-Sasaram Corridor and the Kosi-Mechi Intra-State Link Project to enhance connectivity and irrigation in Bihar.
Key Points
- Project Scope: A 4-lane, access-controlled NH-119A corridor spanning 120.10 km.
 - Cost & Mode: Developed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) at Rs. 3,712.40 crore.
 - Current Issues: The congested route currently relies on state highways, taking 3-4 hours for travel.
 - Connectivity Boost: Links Patna, Sasaram, Bihita Airport, and major railway stations.
 - Employment & Growth: Expected to generate 48 lakh man-days of employment and support socio-economic development.
 - Strategic Impact: Strengthens links to Patna, Lucknow, Ranchi, and Varanasi, advancing the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
