Laureus World Sports Awards

On 22nd April 2025, Rafael Nadal, Simone Biles, and Armand Duplantis were among the major winners at the 2025 Laureus World Sports Awards, which celebrated global athletic excellence in Madrid.

Rafael Nadal received the Sporting Icon Award to a standing ovation, becoming only the second-ever recipient after Valentino Rossi.
Simone Biles was named World Sportswoman of the Year, following a successful Olympic return and multiple podiums in Paris.
Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis won World Sportsman of the Year for defending his Olympic title and breaking the world record a ninth time.
Rebeca Andrade was honored with the World Comeback of the Year Award for her inspiring return to form and success in Paris alongside Biles.
Chinese para-swimmer Jiang Yuyan won Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability after clinching seven gold medals in seven events at the Paris Paralympics.
