Ayushman Vay Vandana Cards

On 28th April 2025, Delhi senior citizens will receive Ayushman Vay Vandana Cards providing free health coverage, including additional benefits for those already under the AB PM-JAY scheme, with a focus on reducing family healthcare expenses.
- The Ayushman Vay Vandana Cards will provide senior citizens aged 70 and above with free health cover of up to Rs.5 lakh, regardless of their socio-economic status.
- Senior citizens who are already covered under the AB PM-JAY scheme will receive an additional top-up cover of Rs.5 lakh annually for healthcare needs.
- The scheme is part of the government's 100-day action plan, with the goal to enroll at least 1 lakh beneficiaries within the first 30 days.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi expanded the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) on 29th October, 2024, to include all senior citizens aged 70 years and above.
- Under the expansion, eligible senior citizens will be issued the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card, which will allow them to avail healthcare benefits.
