PM Conferred Trinidad & Tobago’s Highest Honour

On 4th July 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the nation’s highest civilian honour, during a formal ceremony in Port of Spain.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the first foreign leader to receive the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, marking a historic moment in bilateral ties.
- The award was presented by President Christine Carla Kangaloo in recognition of PM Modi’s exceptional global statesmanship and his efforts to elevate the voice of the Global South.
- PM Modi was honoured for playing a pivotal role in strengthening diplomatic, cultural, and strategic relations between India and Trinidad and Tobago.
- Accepting the award on behalf of India’s 1.4 billion citizens, the Prime Minister emphasized the emotional and historical depth of the ties between the two nations.
