Kamaraj Remembered on Birth Anniversary

On 15th July 2025, rich tributes were paid to freedom fighter and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Kamaraj on his birth anniversary, highlighting his contributions to India's freedom movement and post-Independence governance.

Born in 1903, K. Kamaraj emerged as a key figure in India’s freedom struggle, participating actively in civil disobedience movements and enduring multiple imprisonments.
He served as the Chief Minister of the erstwhile Madras State from 1954 to 1963, bringing in wide-ranging reforms that transformed the state’s socio-economic landscape.
Kamaraj later took on the role of President of the Indian National Congress and was instrumental in shaping national politics during the crucial decades following Independence.
He was a visionary leader who placed special emphasis on expanding access to education, initiating free and compulsory schooling for children across Tamil Nadu.
