64th National Exhibition of Art Opens in New Delhi

On 5th August 2025, The 64th National Exhibition of Art (NEA), organized by the Lalit Kala Akademi, was inaugurated in New Delhi

This year’s edition introduced a groundbreaking initiative — for the first time, award-winning artworks will be available for public purchase, aiming to empower artists and boost India’s creative economy.
In a first-of-its-kind move, select artworks showcased in the exhibition will be available for sale, enabling artists to benefit economically and enhancing market access for India’s visual art community.
20 artists were felicitated with the Lalit Kala Akademi Award for Excellence in Visual Arts
Lifetime achievement honours were presented to Krishen Khanna, Ram V. Sutar, and Ira Chaudhari for their enduring contributions to Indian art and culture
