Former J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik Passes Away

On 5th August 2025, Satya Pal Malik, former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and a prominent political figure, passed away at the age of 79. He also served as Governor of Bihar, Odisha, Goa, and Meghalaya during his long public career.
- Malik began his political career in the 1960s, inspired by socialist leader Ram Manohar Lohia. Over the decades, he was associated with several political parties.
- Transferred to Jammu & Kashmir in August 2018, where he oversaw the historic revocation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019.
- Served as Governor of Goa (October 2019) and later Meghalaya (retired in October 2022).
- Hailing from Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, with ancestral roots in Haryana, Malik was known for standing by his principles throughout his political life.
