Indian Navy Commissions INS Aravali in Gurugram

On 12th September 2025, the Indian Navy commissioned its newest Naval Base, INS Aravali, at Gurugram (Haryana), marking a significant enhancement to the force’s information and communication infrastructure.

  • The base is named after the Aravali Range, reflecting steadfastness and resilience, and will support command, control, and Maritime Domain Awareness operations.The new base embodies the Prime Minister’s vision of MAHASAGAR — Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions and reaffirms India’s role as the Preferred Security Partner in the Indian Ocean Region.
  • The crest of INS Aravali features mountains and a rising sun, symbolising vigilance, strength, and the dawn of advanced technological capabilities.
  • With the guiding motto “Maritime Security through Collaboration,” the base is designed to enhance cooperation and coordination across multiple domains.
